How it plays

Stranded together. But not on the same side.

Shipwrecked is the Epicly game that runs like a TV survival show. Teams form, the island appears on the big screen, and from there the format alternates between survival challenges (where teams compete), plot twists (AI-generated drama affecting one or more teams), and voting rounds (where teams can eliminate each other). The drama is the product.

01
🏝️
Marooned
Teams form (3-5 teams of any size). AI generates the island, gives it a name, and sets the scene on the big screen with cinematic visuals and dramatic narration.
02
🎯
Survival Challenges
Each round opens with a challenge — trivia, voting tasks, prediction games. Teams compete for resources, immunity tokens, or advantage in the next vote.
03
🌪️
Plot Twists
Mid-game, AI introduces narrative twists — storms, betrayals, mysterious arrivals. Twists affect specific teams (selected randomly or by vote) and reshape the game state.
04
🗳️
Tribal Vote
Periodic voting rounds let teams nominate another team for elimination. Highest votes go home. Final two teams play a head-to-head finale for ultimate winner.
Why it lands

Why voting changes a team game.

Most "team" pub games are functionally just multiple individuals scoring together. Shipwrecked introduces a social layer no other Epicly game has — strategic voting. Teams don't just play, they politic. They form alliances. They backstab. They beg the other teams not to vote them off. The bar gets louder. The atmosphere builds.

🏝️
AI-generated islands
Each game gets a fresh AI-generated island with its own name, geography, and visual treatment on the big screen. Beyond decoration — the island's features inform the challenges and twists.
🎯
Mixed challenge format
Some rounds are trivia, some are voting, some are predictions. Variety keeps teams from "specialising" — no single team has every advantage.
🌪️
Random AI plot twists
The game has no fixed structure beyond the framework — AI introduces twists at unpredictable moments. Teams can't plan around what they don't know is coming.
🗳️
Strategic voting layer
Voting rounds are where the social dynamic lives. Teams negotiate openly. Alliances form mid-game. The drama is genuine, not scripted.
🎬
Cinematic big-screen production
Animated weather, soundtracked play, dramatic lighting, narrator voice. Built like a TV show, not a quiz overlay. Photographs well for social.
🏆
Head-to-head finale
When two teams remain, the format shifts to a head-to-head challenge with the whole pub watching. Drama compresses into one final sequence.
Perfect for

Where Shipwrecked does its best work.

🎂
Group bookings
The voting layer makes it perfect for groups who already know each other — friends, colleagues, sports teams.
🏨
Hotel function rooms
60-minute cinematic format suits sit-down dining crowds with longer dwell times.
🍸
Cocktail bars
The dramatic atmosphere matches upmarket venues better than fluorescent quiz nights.
🏛️
Corporate event venues
Team-building events where the voting layer creates genuine memorable moments — work outings, away days, conferences.
Questions, answered

Shipwrecked FAQs.

When does Shipwrecked launch?
Currently in pre-launch development. Email the venue team for early access — beta venues get the game free during testing.
Doesn't voting just lead to bullying?
In testing it leads to politics, not bullying. The format rewards teams that negotiate well, form alliances, and convince others not to vote them off. It's a social game first, a trivia game second. Hosts can disable voting for venues that prefer pure competitive format.
What if a team is eliminated early?
Eliminated teams keep watching — the cinematic drama keeps them engaged, and the platform allows them to vote in the audience polls during plot twists.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Players scan a QR code or enter a short game code at epicly.live in any phone browser.
How big should teams be?
Teams of 3-8 work best. Voting dynamics need at least 3 members per team to develop properly; bigger than 8 and team-internal conversations get unwieldy.
How is this different from Quiz Wipeout?
Wipeout is individual elimination — one wrong answer, you're out. Shipwrecked is team-based with strategic voting — your team's survival depends on your performance AND on what other teams decide. Completely different social mechanic.
What hardware does the venue need?
A screen the room can see (the production is the differentiator), a connected device, venue WiFi, and ideally audio for the soundtrack.
How much will Shipwrecked cost?
Included in every Epicly subscription tier at launch. No per-game charge. Existing subscribers will get it automatically when it goes live.
